History of the Rightly Guided Caliphs – ISHSC
About this course
Focusing on the lives of the four rightly guided caliphs, this course explores their contributions to Islamic governance, ethics, and intellectual heritage. Students will learn how to evaluate historical narratives through the Islamic lens and critically assess Orientalist accounts using evidence from the Qur’an, Sunnah, and classical scholarship.
About the Instructor(s)

Ustadha Hafsa Habibullah
Ustadhah Hafsa Habibullah teaches the course History of the Rightly Guided Caliphs for Mishkah’s high school certificate program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS), and another in Islamic Studies from Mishkah University. She is also a hafidhah, with ijazahs in the recitation of Hafs ‘an ‘Asim and the Forty Hadith of Imam an-Nawawi.
Sr Hafsa has significant experience working with the children and the youth. She has taught Qur’an online for nearly five years with the Qur’an Institute of Dar-us-Salaam. In addition, she works with children through the educational technology company TEAMology. She is set to begin a new teaching role at Al-Huda Global School for the 2025-2026 academic year. She also previously served as a teaching assistant at Mishkah University and is excited to now be teaching full courses with the ISHSC program.
