About this course
The main objective of this course is to enable learners to develop a sound methodology for Arabic-English translation in order to make their rendition correct and accurate. Important directions shall be given regarding translating Islamic texts from Arabic into English. On the practical level, learners will be presented with material of Islamic content to translate from Arabic into English.
Course Prerequisites: This is a senior-level course. Students must complete four levels of Arabic language prior to taking this course.. (3 credit hours)
About the Instructor(s)

Dr Ahmad Al-Saiid teaches Fiqh and Arabic courses at Mishkah University. He holds a PhD degree in Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University, an MA in Islamic Studies from the University of Arizona and a BA in Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University, graduating with honors and academic excellence in all his degrees.
A dedicated academic, Dr Al-Saiid has served as an instructor at various institutions. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Al-Azhar University in the Department of Islamic Studies in Foreign Languages, English Section, where he teaches Islamic legal theory, Criminal Law and Fiqh. He also is the Head of the Islamic Studies in English Section for the School of Languages and Translation at Al-Azhar. He has conducted courses on Arabic translation, English as a Foreign Language, Hadith, Research Methodology and Quranic Exegesis, among other subjects for both graduate and undergraduate students.
Dr Al-Saiid specializes in translation and interpretation and has taken numerous courses and certifications in the field, as well as organized workshops and classes focused on Arabic/English translation.
